The New England Patriots are gearing up for Super Bowl LX on Sunday when they take on the Seattle Seahawks in San Francisco at Levi’s Stadium.
It marks the Patriots first appearance back in the Super Bowl since 2019, which was a team led by head coach Bill Belichick, who was recently in the news across the sports world have it was announced that Belichick, in his first year of eligibility, was not voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He fell short of the 40 votes required by the 50 committee members to be named a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
The decision was complete shock to just about everybody, as Belichick’s coaching resume is second to none across NFL history. He has six Super Bowl wins as a head coach with the Patriots, two as a defensive coordinator with the New York Giants, and has won the most playoff games in league history.

On Monday night, current Patriots head coach and former player of Belichick’s, Mike Vrabel broke his silence on the news.
“I’m confident that Bill will get in,” Vrabel said. “I don’t know the process. I know that everybody is talking about the process. However the vote needs to go, I know that Bill is a Hall of Fame coach. Whether he’s going to get in this year, next year or the year after that, he’s a Hall of Fame football coach.
“I appreciated my time with Bill, enjoyed it — enjoyed every second, eight years with Bill,” Vrabel added.
Vrabel enjoyed a 14-year NFL career that began with the Pittsburgh Steelers before he spent eight seasons in New England, winning three Super Bowls alongside Belichick. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009, where he finished his playing career.
Now in his first season as the Patriots’ head coach, Vrabel is one win away from capturing the first Lombardi Trophy of his coaching career.
