A massive matchup in “Thursday Night Football” saw the Seattle Seahawks defeat the Los Angeles Rams, 38-37 in overtime, in a thrilling comeback win to take over the NFC’s No. 1 seed.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba scored a touchdown in overtime, with the team following it up with a two-point conversion to seize a significant win.

The game featured an incredible performance from the Rams’ Puka Nacua. He finished with 12 receptions for 225 yards and scored two touchdowns in the contest, but it wasn’t enough to help his team secure the road victory.

Despite his exceptional contribution during TNF, Rams head coach Sean McVay grew heated when the postgame press conference turned to multiple questions about Nacua’s off-field controversies.

The most recent of those controversies was Nacua tweeting after the game ended, calling out the game’s referees.

During McVay’s postgame press conference, a reporter asked him about Nacua’s recent tweet, which seemed to aim at the officiating, but the Rams coach said he did not know what was said.

“What are you talking about?” McVay asked, followed by, “What are you asking me right now?”

The reporter attempted to explain that Nacua put out a message that seemed like a thinly-veiled shot at the refs.

“I can’t answer questions about something that I’m not aware of,” he shot back at the reporter.

“I gotta have more information before I answer any of those kind of questions,” McVay told reporters.

Asked about Nacua’s livestream controversy, McVay said “he was very apologetic” over it. The Rams coach said he didn’t believe Nacua understood the “totality of some of the things” he said or did during that livestream, which also included him criticizing the NFL referees.

“For anybody offended, terribly sorry about that. I know he feels the same way. He’s a young guy, that’s a great kid, that’s continuing to learn,” McVay told reporters.

“I love him. We’re gonna continue to put our arm around him and help him learn and continue to grow,” he said.

When asked about the livestream incident, McVay said he was unaware that streamers Adin Ross and N3ON had come onto the Rams’ property for Tuesday’s livestream footage.

A reporter asked McVay if he thought Nacua was distracted by this week’s controversies, and McVay said he didn’t think so, adding, “He went off today.”

Amid the recent controversies, the Rams’ loss to Seattle dropped them to the No. 5 seed in the NFC after being No. 1 heading into Thursday’s clash.

Despite a season in which the Rams appear to be among Super Bowl favorites, Nacua is likely facing hefty fines following this week’s livestream and his recent message on X.
