After Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was limited on Wednesday and missed Thursday’s practice with a nagging ankle injury, he returned on Friday and is on track to return to start on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jackson had a string of injuries this season, starting with a hamstring injury sustained in Week 4. He returned in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears, but was back out in Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns for lingering soreness. He played in that game, but looked limited in his mobility.

Jackson’s ankle injury has been around since Week 12, and though he’s been playing through it, the two-time league MVP isn’t playing up to standard – going three straight games without a touchdown.

He’s fighting to return though, and offensive coordinator Todd Monken emphasized Jackson’s toughness.

“I just give him a lot of credit – he’s battling each week trying to get healthy enough to be able to play every Sunday,” Monken said. “I mean, that’s what I see out of him. I see a guy that’s battling little nagging injuries, things that are stopping him from being able to get out there every day and practice.”

In nine games this season, Jackson is 147 of 227 for 1,841 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions.

If there’s a chance Jackson can’t play Sunday, the Ravens would start Tyler Huntley. While sitting at 6-6 this season, the Ravens are 5-12 when Jackson isn’t starting. The Pittsburgh Steelers also sit at 6-6.

The Ravens and Steelers face off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 7.
