Former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman, whose real name is Adam Scherr, has offered an update regarding his future in professional wrestling following his departure from the company earlier this year. Strowman was released by WWE on May 2, 2025, and has not competed in a match or made any other significant wrestling-related appearances since that time.

In a recent interview with Going Ringside, Strowman directly addressed speculation about his career, confirming that he is not retired from the ring. He explained that he is currently taking an extended break to allow his body to recover from the rigors of the demanding WWE schedule and to pursue other interests.

“I’m taking a break right now,” Strowman stated clearly. He affirmed his readiness to return when the time is right, saying, “These (hands) are always ready if anybody wants them, but right now, I’m enjoying taking a little break, getting my body healed back up as normal as I can, and experiencing some other things that life has to experience.”

Strowman reflected positively on his time with WWE but noted the all-consuming nature of the job. “I loved my time with WWE, but it took up every bit of my time. Now I’m having some opportunities to get out and do some other stuff, see some other things.”

True to his word, Strowman has kept busy with ventures outside of the wrestling industry. He highlighted one of his new business projects during the interview. “I’ve made some ventures, I have a tequila brand now, Quintaliza, we’re working on that, so just living life and having fun,” he said.

In addition to launching his tequila brand, Strowman is now also a television host. His new series, Everything On The Menu with Braun Strowman, premiered just last Friday, October 24th, on the USA Network. The show, which is produced by WWE Studios and BrightNorth Studios, airs in the time slot immediately following WWE SmackDown.

The concept for the food and travel series originated while Strowman was sidelined and recovering from neck fusion surgery in 2023. It features him traveling across the United States, visiting various restaurants, and attempting to eat every single item on their respective menus.

While Strowman takes time to heal and focus on his television show and other ventures, WWE is preparing for its next Premium Live Event, Saturday Night’s Main Event, scheduled for November 1st in Salt Lake City. The show will feature championship matches for both the Undisputed WWE Championship and the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.

Following that, the company builds towards Survivor Series: WarGames on November 29th. Strowman’s former ally under Paul Heyman, Bronson Reed, is currently active on Raw but was barred from the recent World Heavyweight title contender’s Battle Royal, indicating potential involvement in the expected WarGames match against CM Punk and Roman Reigns’ team.
