Rosie O’Donnell is asking fans to pray for her daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell.
“My child chelsea belle – before addiction took over her life – i loved her then i love her now as she faces a scary future- prayers welcomed,” the former talk show host, 63, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, October 29, sharing a childhood photo of Chelsea. Rosie also included the hashtags addiction awareness, love and family.
The post comes just hours after Us Weekly exclusively revealed on Wednesday that Chelsea’s probation was revoked by a Wisconsin judge after she allegedly violated the terms, which stemmed from her three 2024 drug-related arrests.
Rosie’s daughter was taken into custody on September 10, 2024, on charges of drug possession and child neglect. She was arrested an additional two times that same year (on October 11 and November 18) for drugs.
Chelsea was given six years of probation after striking a plea deal with prosecutors in January 2025 that covered all three arrests.
Per her plea deal, Chelsea was to have “strict compliance” with the treatment drug court and maintain “absolute sobriety.” Rosie’s daughter was also not allowed to possess or consume alcohol, controlled substances or any substances.
She didn’t stay out of trouble, though.
In April, she was ordered to spend time in county jail for violating the court rules, but allowed to stay on probation.
In June, a court document showed there was a hearing over a “medication violation.” Around that same time, Chelsea was also ordered to serve two hours of ditch picking as punishment for allegedly missing an appointment.
In August, the court said it heard “progress but concerns” about her treatment program and ordered her to 36 hours of community service.
On September 29, an official from the treatment drug court claimed Chelsea was reportedly in violation of her probation due to sexual assault allegations. They also alleged she had not shown significant progress in the treatment drug program.
“The facts surrounding this request have been staffed with the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team and have been deemed sufficient grounds to warrant termination from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program,” the filing read.
On October 27, an official at the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Us that Chelsea has been in custody since September 9 and has been sentenced to prison, but would not confirm the date of her transfer.
Rosie previously gave Us a statement following the news that her daughter was ordered to prison.
“I have compassion for those struggling with addiction – chelsea was born into addiction and it has been a painful journey for her and her children. we continue to love and support her through these horrible times. prayers welcomed,” the comedian said.
Chelsea is Rosie’s adopted daughter, and they have had a complicated relationship through the years.
Rosie and her then-wife, Kelli Carpenter, adopted Chelsea, who was born in 1997, as an infant.
The star is also an adoptive mom to four other children: sons Parker, born in 1995, Blake, born in 1999, and daughters Vivienne, born in 2002, and Dakota, born in 2013.
Rosie has since moved to Ireland with Dakota, following Donald Trump’s second Presidential election win.
