The Ohio State Buckeyes easily dispatched the UCLA Bruins, who were playing without starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava, in a 48-10 rout that gave head coach Ryan Day and company their 10th win.
While the Buckeyes cruised to victory, there was some concern regarding star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who was shut down late in the second quarter after he was seen moving gingerly on the sideline. Ohio State was already without fellow star wideout Carnell Tate, who is dealing with an unspecified injury.
Following the game, Day offered a brief update on Smith after a concerning video of the star wide receiver popped up on social media.

Smith played just 22 snaps for the Buckeyes in the blowout victory, hauling in four receptions for 40 yards to add to his team-leading totals with 69 receptions for 902 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Day made it clear he doesn’t have any long term concerns for Smith or Tate as the College Football Playoff looms for the Buckeyes. In shutting down Smith, Day said, “We want to make sure that we’re being really smart with him as we know what’s coming down the road.”
His comments came after an Ohio State fan account showed a video of Smith appearing to limp heavily.
