The Seattle Seahawks are set to take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, and are aiming to secure a second consecutive win. Unfortunately, they are now facing the Saints with a concerning issue.

Seattle presented a new injury report that now includes star Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The star receiver has apparently contracted some sort of illness, and has been added to the injury report ahead of the Saints showdown.

According to the report, the illness has also made Smith-Njigba questionable for the game on Sunday. It is not often that teams report on an injury the day before a matchup in this manner, so the illness must be something of note for the receiver.
Smith-Njigba might still play, but getting hit with an illness the day before a matchup is never a good sign.

The star receiver has impressed in two weeks of action, picking up 227 yards through the two games. Smith-Njigba has yet to score a touchdown, but he is clearly a favorite target for Sam Darnold.
The Seahawks dropped an important matchup in Week 1 to the San Francisco 49ers, 17-13. However, the team came back in a big way in Week 2, taking down the Pittsburgh Steelers in dominant fashion with a 31-17 final score.
Seattle appeared to be a bit shaky coming out of the gate, but Week 2 proved the team has a strong core that can take them far. The issue is that the core will now be tested should Smith-Njigba not be able to suit up.
Again, he does have a chance to play, but a random illness being reported the day before a matchup is never a good sign. Smith-Njigba is one of the better weapons for Darnold, so his absence will certainly be felt.
The good news is the Seahawks matchup isn’t until 4:05 pm EST/ 1:05 pm PST, so Smith-Njigba will have more time to potentially make it out to play.
