Seth Rollins has finally opened up about the sudden disappearance of his signature Curb Stomp maneuver during a pivotal time in his WWE run. Speaking with Complex News, the former World Champion revealed that the decision came directly from Vince McMahon immediately after Rollins’ career-defining victory at “WrestleMania 31.”

Rollins explained that the ban was not communicated to him beforehand, but rather dropped on him after he had already won the title. He described the situation as frustrating, noting that he had used the move successfully for years before the sudden change.

“Ah, it sucked. I was given no heads up and it was right after I won the World Title for the first time… and then all of a sudden, ‘I mean, so I don’t think we’re gonna use that anymore,’” Rollins said.

McMahon’s justification centered on the idea that the move was too easily replicable by young children. Rollins pushed back against this logic, arguing that all professional wrestling moves carry inherent risks if imitated by untrained fans.

“‘You know, it’s too dangerous… Kids can do it too easily at home.’ It’s wrestling. If any kid imitates any wrestling move, they’re gonna hurt,” Rollins argued.

When WWE officials suggested he replace the Curb Stomp with a Frog Splash, Rollins immediately shut down the idea. He cited the long-term physical toll the move takes on the body as his primary reason for refusal.

“Absolutely not. I’m not doing that every single night. I like my knees and I like my elbows,” he stated.

Left without a finisher, Rollins turned to his mentor, Triple H, and pitched using the legendary Pedigree. Although it eventually became his temporary signature, Rollins admitted that “The Game” was not initially thrilled about sharing the move.

“He was hesitant about it too. He didn’t like it. I think he really hates it now because people kick out of it sometimes,” Rollins noted.

Rollins eventually regained the use of the Stomp, and he will look to use it to secure a championship opportunity in the coming weeks. The “Visionary” is currently advertised for the upcoming “Royal Rumble” Premium Live Event, which takes place on Saturday, January 31, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
