Seventeen is back on the Billboard charts this week with a brand new album. The group debuts their latest set, 17 Is Right Here, inside the top 10 on a handful of tallies, including some of the most competitive in the country. As the boy band’s latest compilation arrives, its immediate performance helps the large vocal troupe break their tie with several of the biggest names from their home country…while also matching with two others.
17 Is Right Here opens at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 this week. The compilation launches inside the highest tier on the ranking of the most-consumed albums in the country with 52,655 equivalent units shifted, according to data shared by Luminate. That sum is made up largely of actual purchases, as the title sold 48,780 copies.
As it kicks off it’s time on the tally in fifth place, 17 Is Right Here becomes Seventeen’s fifth top 10 on the Billboard 200. They are now matched with both Tomorrow X Together and Twice for the second-most appearances inside the top 10 among all South Korean musical acts on the ranking.
Only one name has accrued more top 10s on the Billboard 200. South Korean superstars BTS have pushed seven different projects into the loftiest region on the albums list throughout their time together. It’s been years since they added to that sum, as the band is on a break at the moment, but they may be able to do so again when they reunite.
Before 17 Is Right Here arrived, Seventeen was already matched with two beloved bands from South Korea. Now, with another win, they’ve broken that tie with both Ateez and Stray Kids. Those all-male groups have both secured four top 10s in the U.S.
17 Is Right Here rises even higher on the other two Billboard charts it appears on this week. The title opens at No. 3 on the Top Album Sales list, thanks to nearly 49,000 pure purchases. Seventeen lands behind only Dua Lipa’s brand new Radical Optimism (No. 1) and Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department (No. 2).
Seventeen collects another champion on the World Albums chart this week, though 17 Is Right Here isn’t new to that roster. The compilation debuted low last week, based on early sales. Now, it bolts from No. 7 to the throne in its second stay on the list.
