The Steelers are atop the AFC North with a 4-2 record before they host the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 on “Sunday Night Football.”

The obvious need for the Steelers is at wide receiver. DK Metcalf has been as good as advertised for Pittsburgh through the first six games, recording 22 receptions for 406 yards and four touchdowns.

However, quarterback Aaron Rodgers needs a better WR2. Calvin Austin III has been that option for Pittsburgh. His 10 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns have been helpful, but he has lower numbers in receiving than tight end Pat Freiermuth and running back Jaylen Warren.

Per Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, Pittsburgh has interest in Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and the Tennessee Titans receiver Calvin Ridley. But the key name to keep tabs on is Las Vegas Raiders receiver Jakobi Meyers. Pauline describes the situation between Pittsburgh and Las Vegas as legitimate.

“The other name to keep an eye on is Jakobi Meyers, who wants out of Las Vegas and whose name has consistently been linked to the Steelers,” Pauline wrote. “Sources tell me there is legitimacy on a Meyers to Pittsburgh deal, though other teams have inquired about the Raiders wide out.”

Meyers has been vocal about wanting to be traded from the Raiders since the preseason. Amid a 2-5 start, Las Vegas should be willing to part with the veteran pass catcher.

Meyers, 28, is the second-leading receiver on the Raiders with 29 receptions for 329 yards.

He’d be an intriguing option for the Steelers as a No. 2 option for Rodgers, and could help take the pressure off of Metcalf as the team looks to make a deep postseason run. It’ll be interesting to see if the Steelers can finalize a deal with Las Vegas.
