The Golden State Warriors recorded a 125-120 win over the San Antonio Spurs in a thrilling Western Conference NBA matchup on Wednesday night.
Led by a masterful 46-point performance from Stephen Curry, the Warriors overcame a 31-point, 15-rebound, 10-assist outing from Victor Wembanyama — handing the home-team Spurs their third loss of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Prior to Wednesday night’s matchup against the Spurs, the Warriors had lost three of their last four games.
Before tipoff at the Frost Bank Center, Golden State head coach Steve Kerr announced a significant starting-lineup decision — benching Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski in favor of Moses Moody and Will Richard.
Kerr confirmed that the team will roll out the same starting lineup for Friday’s rematch against the Spurs.
Moody and Richard will both start alongside Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.
“[Kerr] said he likes the extra shooting around Butler and views Richard as a ballmover that helps offense flow around Curry/Draymond,” team insider Anthony Slater of ESPN reported after Wednesday night’s game.
Moody put forth a solid effort in his third start of the season, recording 19 points, three rebounds and three assists through 22 minutes of action. The fifth-year shooting guard shot 6-13 from the field, 5-10 from behind the 3-point arc and 2-2 from the free-throw line.
Richard, the Warriors’ second-round rookie, scored three points on 1-2 shooting from deep. He also logged one rebound, one assist and three turnovers in his 22 minutes of playing time.
Kuminga had the second-worst plus/minus on the Warriors’ roster Wednesday night as he was -10 through his 12 minutes of action. Podziemski recorded the second-highest plus/minus, going +10.
Friday night’s rematch against the Spurs will tipoff at 9:30 p.m. ET.
