There’s nothing quite like the chill down your back that comes from experiencing a great thriller movie.

And with the end of the month coming up fast, the major streamers are about to lose some of their most interesting thrillers.

That’s why Watch With Us is sharing our guide to the three underrated thrillers on Netflix, Prime Video and HBO Max that you need to stream before January 2026 is over.

Our selections include stories that touch on the supernatural, horror and psychological trauma.

‘What Lies Beneath’ (2000)

Director Robert Zemeckis took a break in the middle of making Cast Away to helm the supernatural thriller What Lies Beneath. Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford play Claire and Norman Spencer, a married couple whose union has hit a rough patch. As Claire struggles to recover from a car accident the year before, she experiences a haunting by a woman whose spirit greatly resembles her.

Norman doesn’t take Claire’s experience seriously, but she realizes that it’s more than just a trick of her mind. The deeper Claire investigates the spirit’s identity, the more secrets about her marriage come spilling out. This ghost has a message for both Claire and Norman, and they may come to regret ignoring it for as long as they did.

What Lies Beneath is streaming on Netflix until February 1.

‘Speak No Evil’ (2024)

There’s nothing supernatural about the thrills in Speak No Evil, which doesn’t preclude the film from dipping into horror. The story starts innocently enough as an American couple on vacation, Ben (Scoot McNairy) and Louise Dalton (Mackenzie Davis), and their daughter, Agnes (Aisling Franciosi), meet and befriend Paddy (James McAvoy) and Ciara (Aisling Franciosi), as well as their mute son, Ant (Dan Hough).

The couples get along so well that Ben and Louise don’t see anything suspicious about Paddy and Ciara’s invitation to spend time at their remote home. That’s where the latter begin behaving very strangely, and Ant tries to convey something that Agnes just can’t understand. Paddy and Ciara aren’t the fine folks they’re pretending to be, and it’s already too late for the Daltons to run away.

Speak No Evil is streaming on Prime Video until February 6.

‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’ (2011)

Compared to the two previous films on this list, Martha Marcy May Marlene isn’t quite as startling, but it’s still a psychological thriller. Elizabeth Olsen made her screen debut as Martha, a young woman who recently escaped from a cult. Out of desperation, Martha contacts her older sister, Lucy (Sarah Paulson), who agrees to take her in.

That decision doesn’t sit well with Lucy’s husband, Ted (Hugh Dancy), in part because he can tell just how disturbed that Martha really is. Martha’s ordeal comes out in pieces during the course of the film, and she’s far from whole. The real question is whether Martha is a danger to herself or others. If Lucy and Ted aren’t careful, they’ll find out the hard way.

Martha Marcy May Marlene is streaming on HBO Max until February 1.
