Emergency services were called to Hoppers Crossing after midnight on Friday after reports of a crash.

Police said a grey Skoda sedan had been pursuing a Toyota sedan “in what appears to be an attempted carjacking along Derrimut Rd”.

The Skoda then collided with the rear of the Toyota, but the occupants escaped without any injuries.

Shortly afterwards, the Skoda hit two more vehicles – a Ford sedan and a Ford Ranger – before it rolled down the street. A teenager inside the car died at the scene.
