NFL legend Tom Brady has ranked his top throws of the past NFL regular season, and there was no question when it came to the best of the best.
Brady, an analyst and commentator for Fox Sports and a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, ranked and highlighted highlight plays from different quarterbacks this season.
They included the Houston Texans’ CJ Stroud, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Baker Mayfield, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, the Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford, and Chicago Bears phenom Caleb Williams, who took the top spot in Brady’s rankings.
After a disappointing 5-12 season, Williams led the Bears back to the NFL Playoffs after achieving impressive wins against the likes of last year’s Super Bowl winners, the Philadelphia Eagles, and talented rival NFC North team, the Green Bay Packers.
A late-season Packers game featured some magic from Caleb Williams, and the seven-time Super Bowl winner Brady was there to watch it unfold as he called the game live.
Bears Announce Colston Loveland Made History in NFL Playoffs
Brady called the Bears vs. Packers game “one of the games of the year” this past NFL season, before reviewing the heroic pass that Williams had.
“I was at this game. It was back and forth. The Packers’ defense was awesome on this day,” Brady said, adding, “They shut down the Bears’ offense for most of the game.”
After only scoring a field goal through the first three quarters, Chicago stormed back at Soldier Field to score 13 points in the fourth quarter, sending the game to overtime for Williams’ game-winning throw.
Brady mentioned it was “about 15 degrees out with 20 miles per hour wind” in Chicago when Williams launched his impressive touchdown pass to DJ Moore in the end zone.
“Caleb throws it back across the field 60 yards in the air. It was an absolutely perfect throw. A+ throw. A moonball for a walkoff win in Chicago,” the NFL legend said.
Brady also referred to it as “one of the most insane moments” he and his broadcast partner, Kevin Burkhardt, have had in the booth so far.
The Bears went on to win that thrilling game in overtime, 22-16, and ultimately won the NFC North and secured the No. 2 seed in the NFC Playoffs. They’d go on to defeat quarterback Jordan Love and the Packers a second time in an NFC Wild Card game.
More recently, fans marveled at yet another incredible Caleb Williams pass, as the Bears’ superstar QB threw up a fourth-down heave with three Rams defensive players chasing him. Tight end Cole Kmet caught the ball in the corner of the end zone, helping send the game to overtime.
Unfortunately, the Bears lost that NFC Divisional Round game to the Los Angeles Rams, but it showed yet another jaw-dropping play from Williams in just his second season of professional football.
