Tori Spelling is opening up about an illness she says she’s been struggling with for the last month.

“I just wanted to pop in and give you guys an update,” Spelling, 52, said using her “sexy sick voice” during the Wednesday, January 7, episode of her iHeartRadio “misSPELLING” podcast. “I know I have been MIA and it’s been due to sickness.”

Spelling explained that she was “heartbroken” she had to cancel her and Brian Austin Green’s show in Las Vegas last month, adding that she was sick and has yet to make a full recovery.

“I’ve literally been sick in bed since December 16 … Yeah, it’s just shy of a month now,” she continued. “And I know I haven’t done my podcast. I’ve been missing doing that so much. It’s such a passion of mine and I love telling my stories and interviewing amazing humans and just getting my voice out there and connecting with you guys.”

Spelling shared that she wanted to keep her fans updated on her condition because of the close bond they share.

“I just kind of wanted to share with you because I literally share everything with you [about] what’s been going on,” she said. “It’s been very frustrating. I’ve been dealing with sinus infection after sinus infection, bronchitis and it just wouldn’t clear. I am frustrated with my body, I am frustrated because mentally and emotionally I feel good, I mean exhausted emotionally but my brain is always going.”

Spelling added it’s been a struggle that she “physically” hasn’t been “able to do anything” for the past month, including celebrating the holidays with her kids. (The 90210 alum shares five kids: Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13 and Beau, 8, with ex-husband Dean McDermott.)

“Christmas was very different this year. I’m very grateful for my kids,” she said. “My daughter Stella really stepped it up and decorated the house and the tree … and went shopping and bought all the gifts specifically so Beau, who believes in Santa, can have an amazing Christmas and wrapped everything. I’m just really grateful for her.”

Spelling confessed that she attempted to celebrate New Year’s Eve with her kids at home, but “had to go back up” to bed before the clock struck midnight.

“It’s been frustrating to pretty much feel like I’ve missed really momentous occasions this year,” she reflected. “But it’s a new year and I am hoping, not hoping, I’m going to get better, it’s just a moment … a really long moment. I’m really looking forward to getting back to everything I love being a going, going, going human, I’m a human that never stops. Maybe that’s why my body finally broke down.”

While the actress didn’t share any additional details regarding her illness or give her month-long ailment a name, a flu-like illness has been sweeping the United States in recent months. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), eight percent of visits to healthcare providers have been to treat what has been labeled as a “flu-like illness,” ABC News reports — surpassing any levels since 1997, the earliest data available.

Spelling added that she has been working with a doctor to help her clear up her “really stuck” sinuses.

“It was a really bad sinus infection and nothing would clear it, antibiotic after antibiotic,” she explained.

In addition to relying on conventional medical practices, Spelling has also been working with an alternative healer as well. The healer has been assisting her since Spelling and her family got sick due to an extreme mold infestation in 2023.

“I hope to be back soon and share some more Tori stories with you. I love you guys,” Spelling concluded.
