Maralee Nichols is offering a rare glimpse into her daily life with her 4-year-old son, Theo.
“Weekend Adventures ⚡️,” Nichols, 35, wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, January 13, alongside a carousel of family photos.
In one snap, Nichols held onto Theo while they admired a flock of flamingos at a local zoo. The mother-son pair also visited the New Children’s Museum and the beach in follow-up pics.
Nichols confirmed in December 2021 that she was expecting her son, suing NBA star Tristan Thompson for child support and claiming that he was the father. Thompson, 34, acknowledged Theo’s paternity in January 2022 after receiving a positive DNA test.
“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions,” Thompson wrote in a social media statement at the time, weeks after Theo was born. “Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”
He continued, “I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.”
In addition to Theo, Thompson is a father of three. He shares son Prince, 9, with ex Jordan Craig, and kids True, 7, and Tatum, 3, with ex Khloé Kardashian. (Thompson and Kardashian, 41, completed an embryo transfer with a surrogate to conceive Tatum less than one month before Nichol’s lawsuit.)
“Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years,” Thompson added in his statement. “My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”
Thompson and Kardashian called it quits following Nichol’s lawsuit.
“I find out what Tristan is doing with the rest of the world. A courtesy would be not doing it,” Kardashian said on a June 2023 episode of The Kardashians, breaking her silence. “But fine, if you do it, you are not even going to give me a f***ing heads-up before the rest of the world? It is just an additional slap in my face. It is humiliating. I am embarrassed. I would prefer to be alone than to be around people.”
Thompson and Nichols later reached a settlement in December 2022, in which the basketball player was ordered to pay $10,000 in monthly child support.
Nichols, meanwhile, has been focused on raising Theo as a single parent.
“I love caring for my son daily and tending to his needs,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in February 2022. “It is so rewarding. I never knew I could love someone so much. He brings such joy into my life and is my greatest blessing. I will do everything in my power to make sure he is provided for.”
She continued, “I will be the best mommy I can be. I love playing with him and making him laugh. He has the cutest smile and is always so happy. I also love reading to him and rocking him to sleep. He is so cuddly.”
