The Golden State Warriors are off to a sluggish start to the 2025-26 season.

A combination of injuries, a lack of chemistry and an aging roster has contributed to the Warriors’ slow start, which is far from what the organization or its fan base envisioned entering the year.

Warriors fans, especially over the last decade, have experienced nothing but success, so it’s been tough to see the type of basketball they are playing to start the season. Fans hold the team to a high standard, including Justin Dutari, a Warriors fan.

After the Warriors’ loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, Dutari shared a passionate email directed to Warriors owner Joe Lacob.

“Dear Joe,

Please do something about this team. What [does] Steph [Curry] need to do every night to win? Drop 50 points? Team is [in] need [of] a real second option. Jimmy [Butler’s] tools are being underutilized because he is playing as a power forward due to the small position players. We have no true center.
I am so frustrated.

Thanks,
Justin”

Lacob himself took it upon his own hands to respond to the frustrated fan.

“You can’t be as frustrated as me,” Lacob wrote. “I am working on it. It’s complicated. Style of play. Coaches desires regarding players. League trends. Jimmy is not the problem.

Joe”

Lacob has been the owner of the team since 2010. Since he’s been at the forefront of things, the Warriors have arguably been the best team since he took over.

He’s led the Warriors to four titles and drafted the likes of Draymond Green and Klay Thompson, and signed players like Andre Iguodala and Kevin Durant, to name a few.

Lacob is widely regarded as one of the best owners in the NBA and is accustomed to competing at the top, making struggles like what this team is currently experiencing frustrating for everyone involved.

The Warriors currently have a 13-14 record, which is good for the No. 8 seed in the stacked Western Conference. Golden State has endured its fair share of ups and downs thus far, and the numbers reflect that. While their defensive rating is elite, ranked fifth in the league, their offense has been abysmal, ranked 21st.

Golden State is viewed as one of the few teams that could make a big splash to their roster via trade, especially if things don’t materialize with the current roster.
