A dachshund patiently waiting by the front door for his corgi neighbor to come out and play has melted hearts online, after a video showing the puppies’ growing friendship racked up more than 1.1 million views on Instagram.

The clip shows Enoki, a 4‑month‑old miniature dachshund, standing outside a glass door each day, clearly eager for his next‑door neighbor Takumi to be ready. Text over the video reads, “My dachshund every day since the corgi moved in next door,” while the caption adds: “I’m kind of obsessed with my new neighbor.”

The video, which features several shots of Enoki waiting expectantly before bursting into playtime with Takumi, struck a chord with viewers. In the comments, users flooded the post with reactions including, “Cute, cute, cute!”, “Omg pls never move away. This is way too cute,” and “Love it, they are bff’s.”

Enoki’s owner, Kasina, who lives in Bangkok, Thailand, told Newsweek that both puppies are around the same age and were born just 20 days apart. Takumi was born on September 10, 2025, while Enoki arrived on September 30, 2025.

Enoki moved in with Kasina’s family in November 2025. Soon after, Kasina’s uncle, who lives next door, fell in love with the dachshund and decided to get a puppy of his own. Takumi moved in next door in January 2026, and the two dogs met for the first time on the shared patio between the houses.

“At first, I worried Enoki might feel overwhelmed by Takumi’s high energy,” Kasina said. “But he was excited every day to go see him and warmed up quickly.”

The bond quickly became routine. Enoki now waits outside the door daily and even barks at Takumi’s house to let the neighbors know he’s ready to play. Footage in the viral video shows the puppies jumping over each other, rolling around, and enjoying an energetic play session once they’re reunited.

Over time, Kasina said, both dogs have adjusted to one another. Enoki has grown more confident with wrestling, while Takumi has learned to be gentler during playtime. “They’re slowly learning how to stay calm together and balance each other out,” she said.

For Kasina, watching the friendship develop has been a source of daily joy. “As a dog lover, their little interactions make me incredibly happy,” she said. “It’s just adorable to see two short‑legged creatures bond so naturally—they’re like the same font in two different weights: the sausage and the loaf of bread.”

With Enoki continuing to wait faithfully by the door each day, viewers online appear just as invested in the puppies’ growing bond, with many hoping the two neighbors—and best friends—stay close for years to come.
