President Donald Trump said in a phone interview that the war with Iran could be nearing an end, telling CBS News’ Weijia Jiang that U.S. and Israeli forces have effectively dismantled Iran’s military capabilities and warning Tehran against any further action.

“I think the war is very complete, pretty much,” Trump said, adding that Iran has “no navy, no communications” and “no Air Force,” and that the United States is “very far” ahead of his initial estimate that the conflict could last four to five weeks.

Asked about Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, Trump said he had “no message for him, none whatsoever,” but added that he has someone in mind to replace Khamenei, without elaborating.

Trump also said ships are currently moving through the Strait of Hormuz but that he is “thinking about taking it over,” and warned Iran that it has exhausted its military options, saying, “They better not try anything cute or it’s going to be the end of that country.”
