Some of your favorite Real Housewives stars are ready to experience a whole new life.
Bravo surprised fans on Tuesday, September 16, with the official trailer for a new series titled Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition.
Featuring Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Angie Katsanevas, Real Housewives of Orange County’s Emily Simpson, Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Melissa Gorga and Real Housewives of Potomac’s Dr. Wendy Osefo, the four-episode event will allow Bravo stars to step into another wife’s shoes.
“Can you imagine swapping lives with someone else? Who would do that?” Angie asks before revealing her destination. “I’m going to Idaho.”
As soon as she arrives at a home far different from her Utah mansion, Angie quickly realizes she’s in for a treat.
“I’m definitely overdressed and underprepared,” the Lunatic Fringe Salon owner says before she’s asked to fix a broken toilet.
Based on the hit global format, each standalone episode follows a different Real Housewife and real wife as they navigate swapping their everyday lives to fully immerse themselves in a vastly different experience.
Emily will say goodbye to the fabulous life of Orange County for a trip to New Jersey with a pet pig. As for Dr. Wendy, she will swap lives with a Florida mom who prioritizes independence and absolutely no rules.
While some of the Real Housewives stars will struggle with their new normal, Melissa’s husband, Joe Gorga, appears to have the right attitude.
“You hate sleeping without me,” he tells his wife before giving her a special present. “I made you a little pillow [with my face on it].”
Cameras will roll as the ladies experience unexpected conflicts, eye-opening moments and emotional breakthroughs.
And yes, viewers will get to see the reaction when the Real Housewives stars reunite with their respective husbands.
“I’ve been vegan for 48 hours,” Joe jokes to Melissa. “You know how long I’ve been waiting to give you the meat?”
All jokes aside, the Real Housewives will question if they can appreciate the lives they left behind. As for the “real wives,” they will discover whether the aspirational lives showcased on reality TV are truly as glamorous as they appear.
“The most spiritual, the most beautiful life lesson,” Angie says through tears in the preview, “and I had to go so far away to see it.”
Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition premieres on Bravo Tuesday, October 14, at 9 p.m. ET with episodes available to stream the next day on Peacock.
