Streaming audio manufacturer WiiM is taking on the Sonos Era 100 with its latest smart speaker, the WiiM Sound Lite.
The WiiM Sound Lite is a high-resolution smart speaker with a 4-inch woofer, dual 1-inch tweeters and a 100-watt peak output. It can be paired with another unit for stereo sound or even expanded to 5.1-channel surround.Â

The speaker has a cloth grill in a choice of white and black and its connections include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and Ethernet.

The partnering WiiM Home app supports Spotify, Amazon Music, Tidal, Qobuz and YouTube Music, while the speaker also boasts Google Cast, Alexa multiroom systems and Roon Ready.
While the speaker doesn’t have a voice assistant onboard, it can be paired with the separate WiiM Voice Remote 2 Lite for push-to-talk control. Meanwhile, the competitive Sonos Era 100 does have an integrated voice assistant and is $10 cheaper.
With products like the WiiM Pro and the WiiM Ultra streamers, the multiroom music company has quickly found favor with audiophiles who are looking for high-end features on a budget.Â
The WiiM Sound Lite will be available on Dec. 25 from Amazon and select retailers for $229.
