TNA Wrestling legend Gail Kim has revealed that she recently declined an offer to work with WWE. The Hall of Famer, who became a free agent earlier this year following her release from TNA, disclosed the news during a recent Q&A session with fans on social media.
When asked by a follower if she would be working with WWE in the near future, Kim provided a candid, albeit brief, response. She confirmed that an offer had been extended by the industry leader but stated that she was unable to accept it at this time.
“I had to decline the offer unfortunately…. Sucks but had to,” Kim wrote.
Kim did not elaborate on the specific nature of the role she was offered, nor did she provide details regarding why she was forced to turn it down. The revelation comes months after reports surfaced linking her to WWE’s developmental brand. In June, Fightful reported that Kim was present backstage at a set of “NXT” tapings, sparking speculation that she might be joining the brand as a coach, producer, or on-screen authority figure.

The timing of the offer follows a tumultuous year for the seven-time Knockouts Champion. In March, Kim was released from her duties at TNA Wrestling—a company she had called home for 17 years across two separate stints—during a significant management restructuring. Her exit was met with shock from both fans and industry insiders, given her status as one of the foundational pillars of the Knockouts division.
Since her departure from TNA, Kim has remained active on the independent circuit, taking select bookings throughout 2025. She recently made headlines with her debut for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) at the “Dream On” event in New Jersey last month. During the show, she cut a scathing heel promo on the GCW faithful before being confronted by Joey Janela, setting up a potential future program.
Prior to her GCW appearance, Kim was scheduled to serve as a special guest referee for the NWA Women’s Television Championship match between Natalya and Kenzie Paige at the NWA’s “Crockett Cup” event. However, she was forced to withdraw from the appearance due to an untimely illness.
With the WWE door seemingly closed for the moment, it remains to be seen where Kim will land next. Her interaction with Janela in GCW suggests she may be exploring options that allow her more creative freedom and a lighter schedule than a full-time WWE contract would permit.
