One key WWE talent on the “Friday Night SmackDown” brand may have undergone a slight name change. Fans have noticed something different when viewing Zelina Vega’s roster page on the official WWE website. Her last name has been removed, and it looks like she will be referred to as simply Zelina going forward.
This hasn’t been the only change to Zelina’s presentation. She recently turned heel, aligning with her real-life husband, Aleister Black. Zelina had been a singles competitor ever since her managerial duties for Andrade ended, and this is the first time she has been used as a manager since.

Zelina’s Second WWE Run
Fans might’ve forgotten that Zelina’s first run with WWE ended when she was released back in 2020. She returned to the company the following year and enjoyed success as a singles act. She earned her first major accolade in WWE by becoming the “Queen of the Ring” in 2021.
Shortly after, Zelina captured her first title in the company with Carmella. The two won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship by defeating Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley.
In one of the biggest moments of her professional wrestling career, Zelina challenged Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship in Puerto Rico. While Zelina fell short, she was overcome with emotion amid the support of her Puerto Rican fans.
Zelina’s journey to her first singles WWE title win ended on the April 25 episode of “WWE SmackDown.” She pinned Chelsea Green to become the WWE Women’s United States Champion. Zelina had a two-month reign with the gold before dropping it to Giulia the day before “Night of Champions.”
The aforementioned heel turn for Zelina occurred during the Oct. 10 episode of “Friday Night SmackDown.” She assisted Black in defeating Damian Priest in a last man standing match. Zelina’s interference allowed Black to throw a fireball in the eyes of Priest.
