Joe Burrow will be the starting quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2026.
After that, though, who knows?
Especially if the Bengals miss the postseason for a fourth-straight season.
ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported early on Monday that this upcoming campaign is considered “hugely significant” for Burrow’s future with the Bengals.
If the Bengals have another down season, who would be the favorites to land the former Super Bowl signal-caller?
Here are three franchises that might already be thinking about Burrow in their uniforms for the 2027 season.

The most obvious choice on the board. The Rams have already shown that they can take a talented franchise QB on a disappointing team and turn them not only into a Lombardi Trophy winner but an MVP as well with Matthew Stafford.
With Stafford possibly retiring at the end of next season, the Rams would go all-in if the opportunity to trade for Burrow was available. Los Angeles has a young core with an old leader; if they got Burrow, the path to being a perennial contender for the next decade would open up for Sean McVay and the Rams.
The Vikings believe they have everything in place to win a Super Bowl except for the quarterback.
After letting Sam Darnold go in favor of J.J. McCarthy and watching their former QB win the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota is in a position where they aren’t afraid to take some big risks to get a star signal-caller in the building.
While they signed Kyler Murray for this season and still have McCarthy, the Vikings aren’t protecting either if there’s a chance to snag Burrow.
Would the Bengals even consider moving their franchise face to a divisional rival that they play twice a year?
Well, even if they don’t, the Steelers would call them every day and night until he was traded, wondering what they could give up to grab Burrow.
The Bengals would have all the leverage in a deal with the Steelers, as there would be other suitors at the table wanting Burrow as well, like Los Angeles and Minnesota.
How much would Pittsburgh pay to get Burrow in the building?
And do they even have enough draft capital or players that could get him to Pittsburgh?
