The Traitors star Ron Funches expanded his family with ex-wife Christina Dawn before their messy split.
Funches rose to stardom doing stand-up comedy before appearing as a guest on comedy shows including Mulaney and Kroll Show. He then moved into more scripted roles on Undateable, BoJack Horseman, The Adventures of Puss in Boots and Adventure Time.
With his star on the rise in the comedy space, Funches was announced as one of the contestants on season 4 of Peacock’s The Traitors. Off screen, Funches went through a dramatic divorce from his ex in 2024 and has been focused on raising his two sons: Malcolm and Teddy.

1st Ex-Wife
Funches became a father when he was 20 years old with the birth of son Malcolm. He hasn’t openly discussed the identity of his eldest child’s mother but previously referred to himself as a single dad and referenced being married before meeting Dawn.
“In very shaky times it’s important to lean into what is solid. You have made my life better everyday since we met. I thought I’d be a single dad forever and I have to thank all the experiences, therapy, and good women who brought me into a space to be ready for the kindest, nerdiest, prettiest and most supportive woman I’ve ever met,” he wrote via Instagram in 2022 as a tribute to now ex-wife Dawn. “You’re a great step mom, my best friend ( sorry @gabedinger), and I hope we watch Sitcoms, travel together, and sit on benches until we’re as old as Sophia and that black man she dated for one episode of the Golden Girls. I love you.”

Funches met Dawn her on a dating app and they got married in 2020 after several years of dating. They called it quits in 2022 and Funches filed a restraining order in early 2024 citing verbal and emotional abuse. The temporary request was granted and the former couple reached a settlement in October 2024.
The deal stated that they will share joint legal and physical custody of their son, which officially settled their divorce.
Son Malcolm Funches
Funches has used his platform to raise awareness and understanding of the neurodivergent community after his son Malcolm, who was born in 2004, was diagnosed with autism.
“Happy Autism Awareness Day! Thank you to my son who brought autism awareness into my life, and continually teaches me so much every day,” he wrote via Instagram in 2022.

Before their split, Funches and Dawn welcomed their son Teddy in 2022. Funches has offered glimpses at Teddy, writing via Instagram in September 2025, “Rare Teddy on main feed for milestone. So happy, proud, excited, melancholy. Once a baby now a boy soon a man.”
