Golden State Warriors All-Star Stephen Curry signed Azzi Fudd to his SC30 brand in December 2021.
Fudd spent five years at UConn after that. She tore her ACL in November 2023, which cost her most of the 2023-24 season, but she still starred in 115 games for the Huskies, including a national championship in April 2025.
Curry did not attend a single one.
Fudd playfully confronted the four-time NBA champion about that when he joined her “Fudd Around and Find Out” podcast, airing Friday.
“I have a bone to pick with you,” Fudd said at the 30-minute mark of the 33-minute episode. “I was in college for five years. Granted, I didn’t play a lot of those years or a lot of those games. That’s still five years of opportunity that you had to come to a game, and you didn’t. And you didn’t.”
Curry squirmed a little before formulating an excuse.
“I’m gonna deflect the blame on [NBA commissioner] Adam Silver for not scheduling us in the northeast at a certain point, or at least giving us a day off when y’all were in the [NCAA] tournament. And then I’m gonna also blame Larry Riley, who drafted me, because if I was in New York, I could’ve been up there.”
Curry said he would “try to make up for five years in one night” by attending the Dallas Wings’ game against the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center — or “Ballhalla” — in San Francisco, California, on June 17.
The Wings drafted Fudd at No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft on April 13.
Fudd had the best game of her extremely young career in the Wings’ 90-86 loss to the Minnesota Lynx in Dallas on Thursday night. She scored eight points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor in 20 minutes of action off the bench.
The 1-2 Wings will next host the 1-1 Washington Mystics on Monday night.
