BBC radio presenter Greg James is spilling the tea about attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding.
“First thing, when I got the invitation, that was mad ‘cause it was ages ago. It was the night before the first day of Comic Relief Challenge,” James, 40, recalled on the Wednesday, July 8, episode of his BBC Radio 1 show, referring to the March broadcast. “I had a couple hours before I had to get up and get on that tandem [bike], I get up, I look at my phone and the invitation had come through.”
Swift, 36, informally invited James to her and Kelce’s wedding back when she appeared on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show in October 2025. Before the couple’s nuptials in New York City earlier this month, James got a formal save-the-date notice. (Us Weekly previously confirmed that the invites did not reveal the ceremony location.)
Once James RSVP’ed “yes,” he had to keep his plans under wraps until the Friday, July 3, ceremony.
“I didn’t tell any of my friends,” he recalled, noting his employer was similarly unaware of his travel plans across the pond. “I had to take annual leave.”
After months of hush-hush wedding plans, Swift and Kelce, 36, tied the knot on Friday inside Madison Square Garden.
“Obviously, I don’t want to be the guy that ruins everyone and Taylor never wants to speak to me again, so I’m not going to [share] all the secrets from the wedding,” James acknowledged on Wednesday. “It was an actual wedding and there [were] lots of nice, private family things that they did.”
After watching Swift and Kelce exchange vows, James was able to mingle with the newlyweds during the joyful reception.
“You know, on a wedding, the bride and groom are very busy,” he noted. “I went and found her, I went and found him, had a little chat. What do you say to the bride and groom? You say, ‘What a great thing, loved it. Thanks so much for the invitation.’ I actually did say to her, ‘Did you know how difficult it was to keep this a secret [while] doing a radio show every day?’ … But they were having a great time.”
James further gushed that Swift and Kelce, each clad in bespoke white Christian Dior haute couture ensembles, “looked amazing.”
“They [were] on the dance floor, having a great time [and] it was great,” James added, noting there was no sit-down dinner, but there were “loads of” wedding cakes. “Great food, unlimited food and drinks!”
In addition to a seemingly endless buffet, James also teased that he took advantage of the DJ’s “open invitation” to take the stage and dance.
