Wedding mornings are often a whirlwind of hairspray, makeup and chaos. But for one bride and her maid-of-honor, an accidental early start led to a heartfelt moment.
In a viral TikTok video that was posted in late February by @madzyla, the pair relived their childhood with a beloved computer game, Webkinz, which they played after waking up at 5 a.m.
Since the video was posted, it has received 1.2 million views and over 164,000 likes.
“My maid of honor and I accidentally woke up at 5:00 AM the morning of my wedding, so we played Webkinz together until everyone else woke up,” the video’s text overlay reads.
@madzyla wrote for the video’s caption: “I’ll never forget this little girlhood moment the morning of my wedding. I’m tearing up just thinking about it.”
Newsweek has reached out to @madzyla for comment via TikTok.
The short clip then shows glimpses of the game, including the iconic “Wheel of WOW.” For many who grew up in the 2000s, Webkinz holds nostalgic feelings, representing hours spent playing games in its online world and caring for virtual pets, which were linked to stuffed animals available for purchase offline.
The TikToker’s video prompted a flood of comments asking how they could access the game all these years later. While she herself never stopped playing, @madzyla wrote that making new accounts can still be fun and revealed that she got her best friend back into it.
“I bought my bestie a Webkinz with a code on eBay,” she wrote.
One TikTok user in the comments got lucky though and wrote: “I just logged into my Webkinz account from 5th grade! I can’t believe I remembered my username and password, I AM SHOOOK.”
For many, the video prompted reflection on their own wedding mornings, proving that those quiet hours before their big days can become core memories.
“I woke up super early the morning of mine and my dad and I went and had breakfast in the local town,” one user wrote. “It was actually so special.”
Another drew a parallel to childhood excitement: “I was my sister’s maid of honor and we both woke up at 5:00 AM. We talked about how it felt just like when we would wake up well before our parents on Christmas morning as kids.”
In the comments section, @madzyla revealed she had a Nancy Meyers and Parent Trap-themed wedding, pointing to even more integration of past and present for the couple on her big day.
In the midst of what is often a high-pressure, meticulously scheduled event, the bride was sure to carve out a space for quiet connection rooted in the past—and thousands online resonated with her nostalgic celebration.
