Wild weather is battering large parts of South East Queensland and northern NSW, and severe weather warnings remain current with heavy to intense rainfall in those areas, as well as “dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding” warnings over coastal and nearby inland areas.
NSW SES has issued advice for people living in affected areas, and says those in warning areas should stay indoors.
“Destructive winds can cause injury and damage to property,” the SES said.
“Flash flooding can occur suddenly and without an official warning. Monitor rainfall in your areas and avoid travelling during heavy rain.”

“Flash flooding can occur suddenly and without an official warning. Monitor rainfall in your areas and avoid travelling during heavy rain,” the SES said.
“If you are near the beach or a coastal waterway, storm surge could cause flooding. This is dangerous. Decide now where you will evacuate to.”
