There is “no place in modern Queensland” for the CFMEU, according to the premier, after a spate of harassment and bullying allegations at a rally in Brisbane.

Crisafulli made the comments during a Nine interview this morning.

A female reporter for the network reported being intimidated and followed at a snap protest in Bowen Hills last week.

“They’re thugs, they’re bullies and their whole business model is on intimidation and driving down productivity,” the premier said.

“The vast majority of the union movement are good people who want to go to work, achieve productivity and get a good day’s pay. That’s exactly what we want.

“The CFMEU does not represent them, and what’s happened is the individuals who cause this continue to lurk in the shadows, they go and they continue to influence and weave their web.

“We say the CFMEU, you have no place in modern Queensland … see you later, hit the road.”
