Brooks Koepka vaulted himself 15 places up the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic leaderboard with a seven-under, 64 on moving day.
After his stellar round, Koepka made a revealing admission by saying, “That’s the most excited I’ve been playing golf in a long, long time. I can tell you that much.”
He added, “It’s I would say back until ’23, the PGA. That’s the most… it’s been a long time since I’ve had fun playing golf.”
The comment comes after a frustrating last few years for the five-time major champion, who hasn’t won a tournament since 2024. Koepka’s admission is interesting given the fact he won three times on the LIV Golf tour after his last major title in 2023, but his round of 64 on Saturday trumps them all.

“For at least a year, I’ve been very… I was very frustrated last year,” he added. “Just wasn’t in a good place, but I think a lot of times when you… it’s like anybody, right? If they’re happy off the golf course, they’re going to play well on the golf course.”
Now back on the PGA Tour, Koepka is finally at peace.
“I think that’s a huge, huge piece of it, and I’ve found that. Re-found my happiness, my love for the game. All the pieces are connected. It’s just now I’ve got to go out and go play,” he said.
He’s right back in competition at the top of the leaderboard sitting five shots off the lead of Mark Hubbard. After a quiet front nine, Koepka caught fire on the back with five birdies and an eagle.
He’ll take the course on Sunday with a chance to win his first non-major PGA Tour event since 2021.
