And in the courts, further details about a conversation between a man and his wife, who is currently in prison awaiting sentencing over bizarre offending towards their two-year-old son, have been aired.
Sarah Jayne Kelly, 30, pleaded guilty to having care or control of a child engaged in conduct that was reckless after she put a feeding tube into the nose of her toddler son and took him to “multiple hospitals in multiple states” claiming he suffered seizures “likely caused by epilepsy”.
She also told medical practitioners that he had cerebral palsy and the child was taking epileptic medication.
“Much of what she claimed was false,” a court was told on Monday during a bail application for Kelly, which also included a detailed evaluation by a District Court judge about whether he should recuse himself from the case after her husband threatened to kill him if he did not free her from prison.
