“It will be worth the wait, 100 per cent. It’s tiring, but I’m still looking forward to it,” she said.
“I’ve loved Billie for many, many years now, probably pre-2019. We’re the same age, so I’ve grown up with her and her music.”
The organisers let a group of 500 into an airconditioned sports complex about midday to get them out of the heat and set up a new wristband system.
“The security has been amazing. We’ve been liaising with them, the police and Queensland Rail. They’ve been really good to us, and they’ve honoured our line.”
Joy was confident she would grab a spot on the barricade once the doors opened at 6pm.
“Everyone seems to have their own specific spot that they want to be in, but I’m happy with either side of the stage,” she said.
“I’m not really too fussed about it, but I just really wanted to make sure the people I’m taking got to get up close and personal and get a really good view.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to see Billie at least four times now already.”
Another fan, Courtney Hamilton, who joined the line on Monday night, said camping since Saturday was “extreme”.
“You’ve got to play the game,” she said.
International superstar Eilish touched down at Brisbane Airport domestic terminal on Monday, and will perform on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, before leaving for Sydney and Melbourne across the next week.
