The in-ring career of a former multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion has come to an end. Eddie Colón, known to WWE fans as Primo, has officially retired from professional wrestling at the age of 42.
His retirement match took place at the World Wrestling Council’s (WWC) 52nd Anniversary show in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, on August 30th. He was defeated by the legendary Ray Gonzalez in a match where his career was on the line.

A Family Affair In Puerto Rico
Primo was released from his WWE contract in 2020. He has since been competing in his family’s home promotion, the World Wrestling Council, in Puerto Rico. His retirement match at the company’s biggest show of the year was a family affair. His brother, Carlito, who also recently left WWE, competed on the same show in a four-way match for the WWC Universal Heavyweight Championship. That bout also featured another former WWE star, Matt Hardy.
