British actor Simon Fisher-Becker, who appeared in the first Harry Potter film, passed away at age 63.

Fisher-Becker played the ghost of Hufflepuff House, Fat Friar, in Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, which came out in 2001.

On Sunday, March 9, his husband, Tony, took to Facebook to announce the beloved actor had died.

“Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon’s husband. I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon Simon passed away,” he wrote. “I’ll be keeping this account open for a while. I’m not sure at this point if I’ll be posting again. Thank you.”

Friends and fans of the Doctor Who alum reflected on their love for him and offered their condolences in the comment section.

Prayers for all his friends and family.”

“Oh I AM sorry Simon was amazing and a kind man I will miss him so much,” another individual wrote.

Fisher-Becker’s agent, Kim Barry of Jaffrey Management, gave a statement to Deadline reflecting on the devastating loss.

I shall never forget the phone call I made to him when he was offered the part of Dorium Maldovar in BBC’s Doctor Who,” she recounted. “Simon was also a writer, a raconteur and a great public speaker. He helped me out enormously and was kind, gracious and interested in everyone. My condolences go to his husband Tony, his brother, nieces and nephews and his legion of fans.”
