Instagram users started the week off with some glitches in their feeds. People started reporting issues with the Meta-owned social media app around the beginning of the workday on the East Coast.
Error reports started appearing on Downdetector around 9 a.m. ET on Monday. (Downdetector and CNET are both owned by the same parent company, Ziff Davis.) The number of reports quickly surged to more than 1,000, compared to baseline numbers around 10.
CNET has reached out to Meta for more information about the issues.
Some of the errors appeared to include the app freezing and Reels becoming stuck on the first frame or not playing automatically.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
