Jerry O’Connell proved he’s a die-hard and committed baseball fan during the 2025 World Series.
O’Connell, 51, documented his time at game three between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays via social media on Monday, October 27, at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. O’Connell was joined by a group of friends, including fans of the opposing team.
The game was intense as the Dodgers and Blue Jays kept tying up the score. After the seventh inning, the teams were tied at five runs each. When it was time for the Dodgers to get up to bat for the bottom of the ninth inning, O’Connell was hopeful his team would secure the win.
“LOL Bottom of the 9th!” the actor captioned a video of him singing along to “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.
O’Connell’s hopes were diminished as the Blue Jays and Dodgers remained tied.
“This has gotta end at some point,” O’Connell captioned a selfie of him at the game looking a little tired.
While some fans opted to leave the game, O’Connell remained in his seat and continued to cheer on his team. He provided another update during the 14th inning.
“I’m not f***ing leaving!” O’Connell sang to the camera while showing off the view of his seats at Dodger Stadium.
One fan commented on O’Connell’s post, amazed he was still there since it was after 10 p.m. on the West Coast. O’Connell gave a candid update on how he was feeling.
“Bro. I’ve been here since 4 and I have to s***,” he replied to the fan.
The game went into the 15th inning and O’Connell joked that even the stadium itself was getting tired.
“Bottom of 15th, Jumbotron quit,” he wrote via X alongside a photo of the Jumbotron missing a portion of its picture.
When the 16th inning rolled around, O’Connell declared he was still staying put. One fan joked that O’Connell might get called to pitch in the game if it continued. O’Connell shared he was still at the stadium during the 17th inning and bragged that he stayed longer than some other celebrities who were also in attendance.
“Let’s go! I’m gonna outlast [Jason] Bateman! I’m gonna outlast Bateman! Let’s go!” he cheered.
O’Connell got his wish for the game to end and a Dodgers victory as Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th inning. The Dodgers won 6-5.
“Got the shot. Going home to feed my dogs,” O’Connell captioned the video of him reacting to the final run of the game.
The Monday game lasted six hours and 39 minutes and went for 18 innings, tying the record for the longest World Series game ever. The original longest game record holder was secured back in 2018, when the Dodgers faced off against the Boston Red Sox in game three. The matchup lasted 18 innings as well, but its duration was seven hours and 20 minutes. The Dodgers won that game as well with a score of 3-2.
