Joe Giudice is apparently ready to forgive.
The former Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 53, exclusively told Us Weekly how he really feels about his ex-wife, Teresa Giudice, reuniting with her estranged brother, Joe Gorga, and sister-in-law, Melissa.
“I know they met Saturday night,” Joe confirmed to Us via phone on Monday, November 3, of the trio’s reunion, noting that he believes Teresa’s new husband, Luis Ruelas, was also in attendance during the sit-down.
Admitting he didn’t know the outcome of their reunion, Giudice shared that he wants peace for his ex and her family.
“I mean, at the end of the day,” he told Us, “it’s still her brother.”
Giudice said Teresa should make amends with her sibling, 51, for their children’s sake.
“It’s her only brother,” he recalled. “Besides that, the cousins don’t speak… which isn’t right.”
Giudice shares four daughters with Teresa: Gia, 24, Gabriella, 21, Milania, 19, and Audriana, 16. His former in-laws, Joe and Melissa, 46, share three kids: daughter Antonia, 20, and sons Gino, 18, and Joey Gorga Jr., 15.
Giudice, who admits he can hold a grudge, also offered his ex some unsolicited advice.
“At the end of the day, you know what? I mean, get over it, because it’s like, what are you gonna do?” he said, referring to the siblings’ long-standing feud.
Teresa has had a consistently turbulent relationship with her brother and sister-in-law, who wed in 2004. Their issues have played out over several seasons of RHONJ, putting a strain on many of their fellow cast members.
The reality star recently opened up about reconciling with Joe and Melissa on Jennifer Aydin’s podcast, TV Gold.
The Bravolebrity revealed it was her oldest daughter who helped her take the leap.
“Yeah, I just, you know, baby steps. And what, you know, made me do this is that, you know, [it] started with Special Forces being away with Gia and then Gia wanted me to let go of the past with her dad. And when I was thinking about that, then I started thinking about my brother and and and then there’s [an] incident that has happened, you know, the past few years or whatever,” Teresa said on the podcast.
She also revealed an emotional moment between her and her brother’s youngest children, which tugged at her heartstrings.
“Like, for instance, like Audriana, one of these, one of the incidents like Audriana saw little Joey at a party and when they saw each other, they got teary eyed. And I think they hugged and it was so sweet. And then Joey told Audriana he wanted to send Gia a message, which that, you know, so like touched my heart,” Teresa stated.
Despite their divorce, Giudice told Us that he’s still on good terms with his ex.
“She still thinks she’s, you know, married to me,” he joked.
These days, Giudice calls the Bahamas home and is in a happy relationship of his own.
He shared that the pair have talked about possibly moving in together, and when asked if he’s open to remarrying, Giudice responded, “I mean, eventually, I guess I would.”
