Former federal treasurer Josh Frydenberg has doubled down on his fiery rebuke of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s antisemitism response in the wake of the Bondi terror attack, saying his government is “delusional” when it comes to protecting Jewish Australians.
Frydenberg has continued his media appearances this morning, following from an angry speech lamenting the Labor government’s antisemitism response after he visited the Bondi Pavilion public memorial yesterday. He clashed with 7.30 host Sarah Ferguson later yesterday, saying that any suggestion his strong comments were of a political nature were “deeply” offensive.

Frydenberg called the Albanese government “delusional” when responding to suggestions that they’ve implemented more policies to combat antisemitism than any other government in history, and claimed Albanese was “nowhere to be seen”.
“They’re not just naive. They’re reckless,” he told Sky News.
“When antisemitism moves from the shameful fringe to the public square, and there is no more public square than Bondi Beach in Australia, it’s a sign of a decay across society, and it’s a sign, it’s a massive warning sign to us all that more action is required urgently.”
Frydenberg brushed off questions about his political future, saying he had made “no decisions” about a return to public life and was instead focused on advocating for “stronger policies to protect all Australians”.
