We still can’t believe this story.

A 19-year-old man has been charged over an alleged altercation which left a 40-year-old man with a severed arm.

The alleged assault occurred at an address on Collins Street in Piccadilly, near Kalgoorlie, on Wednesday around midday.

The two men, who were known to each other, allegedly got into a physical confrontation outside the home, and as a result the 40-year-old sustained life-threatening injuries.

He self-presented to Kalgoorlie Hospital with a severed arm and was subsequently flown to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. He remains there in a critical condition.

The 19-year-old, from South Kalgoorlie, has been charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm, carrying or possessing an edged weapon and two counts of possessing a controlled weapon.

He was refused bail and will appear before the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court today.
