Lenny Kravitz is clearing up rumors that he was involved in a fatal plane crash in Florida over the weekend.

“The reports are untrue and incorrect,” Kravitz’s rep, Carleen Donovan, told BocaNewsNow.

On Sunday, November 1, a private jet bound for the Bahamas crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, killing all nine people on board.

Rumors swirled on social media that Kravitz, 62, was among the passengers after a female pilot, who was wrongly identified as the person flying the doomed jet, posted about taking the singer on a similar route.

“Honored to be flying the one and only Lenny Kravitz from [Austin-Bergstrom International Airport] to [North Eleuthera Airport, Bahamas] tomorrow. Looking forward to having him on board,” read the since-deleted Facebook post from Florida-based pilot Emily Shelton.

Shelton also addressed the rumors that she was involved in the crash via TikTok on Sunday.

“I was recently made aware that there are rumors that I was the pilot of the recent crash in Palm Beach,” she wrote. “I would like to respectfully clarify I was not. I ask that people please stop speculating and spreading misinformation on this tragedy and be respectful of those involved. My heart goes out to all those lost and affected.”

The Learjet 60, which had taken off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas, crashed into a roadway around 12:50 p.m. ET near Cresthaven and Greenacres, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a statement.

“Today’s plane crash in Palm Beach County, Florida is a horrific tragedy,” Duffy wrote via X. “Please join me in praying for the families and loved ones of those we lost.”

No one on the ground was killed or injured, although flying debris from the fiery crash sparked localized fires and forced the emergency evacuation of approximately 600 mobile home residents, Palm Beach County District 3 Commissioner Joel Flores and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said.

Radio transmissions captured the crew reporting “light, clear ice that is manageable” and “moderate turbulence” while flying around 35,000 feet. The pilot then declared an emergency as the jet rapidly descended, stating over the radio, “We’re going to crash into the ground.”

DeSantis, 46, called the crash “cataclysmic.”

“It looked like a missile going down. It left a big crater on the side of the road,” he said.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the nine victims, but one of the pilots was 20-year-old Nathalia Filgueiras, according to her mother.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the incident with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
