A man has been arrested after a woman died from stab wounds at a home in Victoria’s rural south-west on Saturday morning.
Police were called to house in Pilleau Street, Coleraine, following reports a woman had been stabbed about 1.10am.
Officers arrived and found the injured woman, but she died at the scene.
Homicide squad detectives travelled to Coleraine, about 35 kilometres north-west of Hamilton, on Saturday to investigate the circumstances of the woman’s death.
A Coleraine man has been arrested and will be interviewed by detectives in relation to the death.

A spokeswoman for Victoria Police said the man was known to the deceased woman.
