Residents of Hamilton Hill are in lockdown after a man was shot in the stomach on Sunday morning.

Police are on the hunt for two males who are believed to be involved in the shooting.

At about 4:35am police received a report that a 38-year-old man had been shot at a residence on Owen Place in Hamilton Hill.

Police and St John WA responded and provided emergency first aid to the victim.

The man was conveyed by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.

“Police believe two males, dressed in all black clothing, were involved in the shooting,” a WA Police spokesperson said.

“Significant police resources have been deployed and are conducting a thorough search of the area.

“Members of the public are asked to stay away from the area. Those in the area are advised to lock their doors and windows and remain inside.”

Anyone who sights the two males or sees any suspicious behaviour is urged to not approach the men, and to call police via Triple Zero immediately.
