While children’s parties are often themed according to their favorite movies or characters, one toddler has left the internet in hysterics with the unusual party theme he chose.

In the months leading up to her son’s third birthday, Fern Smith, 27, started to ask Zion what sort of party he wanted. Did he want it to have fire trucks, animals, or maybe even a space theme? The answer was “no” because the only theme he had in mind was vacuum cleaners.

Smith, from the United Kingdom, told Newsweek that Zion has been obsessed with vacuums since he was around 6 months old. But it’s not just any old vacuum, as Zion specifically loves Henry, an iconic red cleaner with a cartoon face on the front.

“It evolved to Henry specifically because my mom had a Henry which he would ask to see every time we FaceTimed,” Smith said. “He kept saying that he wanted a Henry hoover cake for his birthday, so I decided to do a Henry-themed party for him.”

Needless to say, Smith did a stellar job of bringing her son’s dream party to life. Not only did he have a black and red Henry birthday cake, but there were also cookies, cupcakes with a variety of vacuum cleaners on the top, banners, and a red balloon arch.

Zion and his younger sibling were also dressed for the occasion as they had matching clothes with red Henrys on them.

Smith had been planning the party for over six months, and she managed to buy a lot of the items online via Etsy and Vinted.

“My mom and I were checking Vinted daily for Henry hoover theme gifts and goodies for the party,” she continued. “Since I had the idea planned in my head for so long, I didn’t encounter any difficulties, and I had help from my partner and my mom to make it all come together.

“Zion had the best time, and he even got some Henry-themed gifts. He got a ride-along hoover and a Henry cleaning trolley,” Smith told Newsweek.

The proud mom shared pictures of her son’s adorable birthday party on TikTok (@fxrnsmith) and the post went viral. It has already amassed over 1.2 million views and 192,100 likes at the time of writing.

Plenty of social media users lauded the niche party idea, and many fellow parents told Smith how much their own kids love hoovers too.

“The next thing will be to get him an actual Henry hoover, but maybe when he’s a bit older,” Smith joked.

Of course, Zion’s love of vacuum cleaners isn’t new, as Smith recalls him getting excited whenever he saw one. With that in mind, there was really nothing else that would suffice for a birthday party theme.

Smith said: “We took him to a fire engine day out when he was about 2, and he was so excited and kept pulling me to see a particular fire engine. After a while, I realized it was because there was a Henry next to it and he wasn’t bothered by the fire trucks or the demonstrations, he was fixated on the Henry instead.”

With over 2,600 comments on the TikTok post already, many internet users hailed Smith’s dedication to creating the perfect (albeit unconventional) birthday party.

One comment reads: “kids’ random interests kill me.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “Love this, you win best mum ever.”

It even captured the attention of the Henry TikTok account, who responded: “Happy Birthday!”
