Olivia Rodrigo debuted a brand new collaboration with Robert Smith from The Cure in her surprise set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain.
Rodrigo’s official fan account shared a clip of the surprise performance on Instagram, featuring the 23-year-old singer-songwriter taking to the stage during the June 6 set and debuting the track “What’s Wrong With Me.” The new track will be featured on her upcoming third album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love.”
Before she played the new song, Rodrigo opened up about the “really special” track and how it’s the “first song I’ve ever done a feature on.”
“It’s my first collaboration, and I’m just so proud of it,” she continued. “I can’t believe this song exists [and] the person that it exists with. I’m so over the moon.”
Rodrigo began the performance before surprising the audience by bringing out the 67-year-old rock legend to perform the song with her on stage. After the pair’s performance, Rodrigo hugged Smith and then told the crowd, “I feel like I’m gonna cry … I can’t believe that that’s a thing that happened in the real world and not just a figment of my imagination.”

The latest on-stage collaboration marks the pair’s second time performing together since Rodrigo’s set at the 2025 Glastonbury festival in the U.K., where they covered The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven” and Friday I’m in Love.”
The new track is the 10th song on the new album and part of its second act titled “You Seem Pretty Sad.” Rodrigo also revealed that the first act of her new album would be titled “Girl So In Love,” which will include her first single, “Drop Dead,” as well as other upbeat songs.
Some of the lyrics from the new track reference some of the “poison” and “insecurities” Rodrigo sang about in her previous single, “The Cure,” as she sings, “Can’t describe this feeling I’ve got in my head / Another body in my bed / And I’m just searching up my symptoms / Desperate to fix them up, do anything.”
“You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So in Love” is set to release on June 12.
