Port Kennedy residents have been urged to flee as a bushfire bears down on homes in the coastal southern suburb.
A bushfire emergency warning is in place for an area bounded by Warnbro Sound Avenue, Bakewell Drive, Ennis Avenue and Port Kennedy Drive.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after the fire was reported about 1.30pm on Tuesday.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services warning said the fire was moving in a north-easterly direction and burning towards Ennis Avenue and Mandurah road.
Residents in the warning area are urged to leave now if the way is clear.
“You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. There is a threat to lives and homes,” the DFES warning read.
