Rapper Dominique Jones, known to fans as Lil Baby, was arrested Monday morning on an illegal firearm possession charge.
Jones, 29, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, according to court records. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed he was arrested at 5 a.m. on the Las Vegas Strip but did not provide additional information.
Representatives for Jones did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News.
His attorney told NBC News affiliate KSNV of Las Vegas that Jones has a concealed carry permit for the state of Georgia.
Nevada honors licensing from some states, but Georgia does not appear to be one of them. The Nevada Public Department of Safety has a list of more than two dozen states that it honors permits from, but Georgia is not one of them.
Jones had an initial court appearance Tuesday in which he posted a cash bond.
