A registered sex offender accused of targeting women in a brazen, hours-long spree across the San Fernando Valley is now in custody after what police describe as a string of six assaults in a single day.
Damian Denzell Robinson, 29, was arrested following an LAPD manhunt tied to a six-hour series of attacks in North Hills, Northridge, and Winnetka, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
A woman—who only identified herself as Monica—reported Robinson on Sunday after he allegedly groped her at a Vallarta grocery store.
“You feel so violated, and it’s like invading your personal space,” Monica told FOX11. “You’re trying to process what is happening to you at that moment.”
Investigators say Robinson was identified as the suspect after reviewing surveillance footage from multiple businesses. He allegedly assaulted women and recorded some encounters on his cellphone.
The spree began around 9:10 a.m. Sunday near Devonshire Street and Balboa Boulevard in North Hills, where an elderly woman reported a man pulled down her pants, grabbed her, and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
Roughly 45 minutes later in Northridge, another elderly woman said a man attempted to pull down her pants, but she held onto her waistband and confronted him, prompting him to run off.
Minutes later, a third victim near Lassen Street and Encino Avenue reported being approached from behind, grabbed, and sexually assaulted while the suspect recorded the incident on his phone.
The attacks continued into late morning and afternoon.
Around 11:15 a.m., a woman was assaulted inside a food market near Vanowen Street and Corbin Avenue in Winnetka.
Another victim reported a similar assault around 12:30 p.m. at a nearby market on Mason Avenue and Sherman Way, where the suspect pulled down her pants and underwear.
By about 3:20 p.m., a woman in a retail store restroom near Corbin Avenue and Nordhoff Street reported someone was using a cellphone to record her from beneath a stall.
Robinson — who has prior convictions for indecent exposure and lewd conduct — is now being held on suspicion of felony sexual battery and other sex-related charges.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
