A man’s unusual way of cutting into a freshly baked brownie tray has sparked laughter among viewers on Reddit, after his father-in-law shared the result of his bizarre mode of dishing food to the platform.
The man’s father-in-law had taken to the platform on June 14 under u/shaneblaster with an image of what had happened to the dessert. His son-in-law had cut the brownie, not delicately from its corners, but by taking a rounded slice out from the very middle of the tray.
Three corners of the brownie remained in tact, but the missing chunk from the center has left the brownie looking pretty unusual, sparking plenty of amused comments from viewers.
“My son-in-law cut a piece of brownie for himself,” the man’s father-in-law said. “We are debating if he stays in the will.” He told Newsweek that he is 58 years old and is based in Utah.
While this matter may be trivial, family members not respecting how others present and share food can, over time, ruffle feathers in a household.
Pat Bathurst, a licensed marriage and family therapist based in California, said that low-stakes conflicts and similar sources of annoyance are a “normal part” of living together.
“Low-stakes family conflicts provide a good way for families to practice conflict resolution,” Bathurst told Newsweek. “It helps encourage teamwork and kindness.
“Parents should encourage kids to forgive rather than blame each other in these types of conflicts.”
To date, the post has been upvoted more than 107,000 times, amassing over 6,400 comments. The majority of these have been humorous, lighthearted and intentional to reflect the comedic tone of the post.
“I can only imagine how he eats pizza,” one viewer posted, while another responded: “With a spoon?”
“Nah, he used his hands,” a third viewer shared. “No way does cutting into a brownie looks like that from any utensils.”
“I would say he sat there with a fork for about 10 minutes,” one comment read, while another added: “‘Cut’ is being generous. Did he just rip it out with his bare hand?”
“It looks like he just ate out of the pan with a fork while stoned,” one viewer commented.
“I had a nephew who did this to a pie. Had,” another posted.
