Speedway Grand Prix Vojens LIVE – Max Fricke leads the standings after four heats full of chaos

• Each round will feature 16 riders racing against each other in 20 heats, consisting of four riders competing four laps of the track.
• The winning rider in each heat will be awarded four points, two points for second, one for third, and zero for fourth.
• The eight riders with the most points at the end of the heats stage then move on to two semi-finals, with the top two from each of these semis then facing off in the final.

The defending champion takes to the track hoping to lead off the line. Lebedevs makes a great start to lead the pack but Zmarlik settles into the race nicely and looks for a way around the inside, but loses the place to Thomsen in the final corner. Thomsen, the wild card, delights his home crowd.

A big crash happened off the line as Bewley and Lindgren made contact heading into the first corner. Lindgren stormed straight down towards the first corner, touching Bewley on his way. Lindgren is out of the heat while Bewley limps back to the pits.

Bewley got off to a great restart but lost momentum after the first corner, Janowski snatched the position from the Brit and stormed off into the distance.

Fricke makes a great start round the inside and storms ahead of the other riders as Jensen attempts to pull one back, while Wozniak and Lambert battle for that crucial point. A tight finish sees Lambert pick up a point while Fricke grabs three.

Nilsson uses the inside gate to dive down the corner, throwing his bike to the front of the pack as Vaculik falls under pressure on the back straight of the opening lap. Nilsson steals the win around the technical track with ease, picking up three points.

The riders have been introduced to the thousands sitting in the iconic Vojens circuit, and we are now nearing the action while the national anthem plays.

After a crash with Australian rider Jack Holder in heat 18 of the last round in Riga, Latvia, Leon Madsen has withdrawn from Vojens tonight.

The 2023 winner has yet to recover fully from the incident and has opted to pull out of the penultimate round, making space for the former Danish champion Rasmus Jensen.

Jensen will feature in the starting line-up at his home event in Vojens, returning for the third year running.

He won the 2022 Danish Championship, raced in the semi-finals as a wild card here in 2022, and scored six points here last year.

Heading into the penultimate round in Vojens, the defending champion Bartosz Zmarzlik sits at the top of the standings hoping to secure another championship.

The penultimate round of the 2024 series takes us to Vojens, Denmark, where the title fight rages on.
